To identify a particular user
You can tag a particular user by entering @ followed by the first letters of the user's first name in the space dedicated to sending messages. A list of users matching the entry will be displayed: once selected, the user receives a notification when the message is sent.
To identify all members of a channel
To do this, simply enter @ followed by "channel" in the space dedicated to sending messages. All members of the channel will receive a notification.
